Fill your kitchen with the wonderfully aromatic smells of India with this savory blend of the finest in mild Indian spices. Traditionally served with cooked crab, prawns or snapper, this mix is also excellent prepared with chicken broth and cooked chicken or leftover turkey. Gluten-free and all-natural, this mix can also be prepared as a flavourful vegan dish, using water or vegetable broth and tofu. Another versatile dinner dish! If you have leftover veggies in the fridge, throw them in too; a handful of celery adds a nice crunch.
Ingredients (all pronounceable and familiar!):
Rice, dehydrated onions, spices (mustard), salt, citric acid.
I discovered Curry Rice mix not very long ago and it has become a real favourite. It's lovely as a side dish, but can also easily be turned into a tasty pilaf with some cubed rotisserie chicken, peas, small cauliflower florets and a teaspoon of Biryani masala. Top it with some cashews and raisins, quickly sauteed in a bit of butter, and you have a delicious meal.
This is one of my all-time favourites. The curry flavour is unique and very pleasant. I usually add some celery, onions, and chicken to the mix.
Really good, I add more Currie powder!
As suggested I add frozen peas and celery, makes all the difference. Used fresh cod -
